We are looking for one person in Kuwait

We built a social-emotional learning programme that works. It runs in more than 100 schools in Belgium. In Kuwait we have a commercial licence and real groundwork behind us. What we do not have is someone on the ground. That is the whole job.

What we do

A shared language for emotions, for children aged 3 to 8

Jungle Buddies is a Belgian programme for social-emotional learning. Five animal characters give young children words for what they feel: the lion who gets angry, the elephant who is afraid to fail, the monkey who cannot sit still. Teachers use it every day, with structured materials, classroom routines and training, and from 2027 with an app that helps schools and parents follow a child over time.

It is clinically validated, built by a child psychologist, and it is not a binder that ends up on a shelf. Schools that start with it stay with it. That is the product you would be representing.

Where we stand in Kuwait

Halfway, and stuck for one reason

Kuwait is the country where we have come furthest outside Europe. We hold an active commercial licence, we have had real conversations with schools and institutions, and a serious part of the approval process is behind us.

Then it stalled. Not because of the product, and not because of a lack of interest. It stalled because nobody is there. Our team sits in Belgium, and Kuwait does not work by video call: things move through people, in person, often on a day's notice, and through a process that rewards knowing exactly which door to knock on. Every month we are not present is a month nothing moves.

So this is not a sales job. It is closer to running a small venture: you pick up a file that is already half built, you work with the local agent we already have, and you carry it to the finish line with our full support behind you.

The role

What you would actually be doing

  • Being the bridge between our team in Belgium and everything that happens in Kuwait, including the local agent we already work with.
  • Getting the government track moving again: knowing who decides what, keeping the file alive, chasing the steps that need chasing.
  • Opening doors at schools and institutions, and preparing the conversations our founder joins by video or in person.
  • Staying in touch with us weekly, so we know where things stand without having to ask.

You do not sell alone and you do not negotiate alone. Pricing, contracts and delivery stay with us. You bring presence, judgement and access, which is exactly what we cannot do from here.

The fit

Who we are looking for

  • You are in Kuwait. You live there, or you are there often enough that meeting someone next week is never a problem. Nationality does not matter.
  • You take ownership. You have run something of your own, or you work like someone who has. Nobody will be managing your calendar.
  • You know the inside of how things get done in Kuwait: the process, the paperwork, the patience, and who actually decides.
  • You speak fluent English. Arabic is a real advantage, not a requirement.
  • You can carry this alongside what you already do. This is not a full-time position and is not meant to be your only income.

This is probably not for you if

  • you are looking for a salaried job with fixed hours;
  • you would be working from outside Kuwait;
  • you want to be told each week what to do next.
What you get

Paid on what you bring in

You would work as an independent partner, not an employee. There is no retainer and no fixed fee. Instead you earn a share of the revenue on the business you help close, paid out across the first years of each contract, so a deal that lands keeps paying while it runs.

We are open about the reason: we are a growing company and we cannot pay for presence that has not produced anything yet. The flip side is that the upside here is real. Education contracts at national level are large and they recur, and the share we have in mind is meant to be worth your while rather than a token.

We put the numbers on the table in the first call. Not in a form, and not after three rounds of interviews. If the model does not work for you, we would both rather know in week one.

Our programme is being reviewed at government level. Knowing how that process really works locally, and who to talk to, matters more here than a polished CV.
